These Community Guidelines govern user conduct and content standards on SoTrue (“SoTrue”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by SoTrue Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office at Flat No.: HD-036, No 8/2A, 8/2B, 9, Amarajyothi Muss, M/S Golf Link Software Park, Udhay VJ Realty pvt ltd, near Challaghatta village, Challaghatta, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka, 560071
These Guidelines are aligned with applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
By accessing or using the platform, you agree to comply with these Guidelines, along with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
1. Platform Role as Intermediary
SoTrue operates as an intermediary platform that enables filmmakers and authorised production entities to upload and distribute films and shows.
Content may be presented in segmented sequential units (“Slices”) as well as in full length format on supported devices such as connected TV platforms. Slices are structured segments of full length films and shows and together represent the complete content experience
SoTrue does not initiate the transmission of content, select the receiver of the transmission, or modify the information contained therein, except where required for platform functionality, safety enforcement, or compliance with applicable law.
Users acknowledge that they are solely responsible for the content they upload, publish, or share on the platform.
The platform does not support independent content posting, open feed based interactions, or public commenting.
2. User Responsibilities and Due Diligence
Users are required to comply with all applicable laws while using the platform.
You agree not to host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, or share any content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, invasive of another’s privacy, or otherwise objectionable.
You must not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or create accounts for fraudulent or deceptive purposes. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and ensuring that all information provided is accurate.
3. Prohibited Content and Conduct
Content that threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, or that incites violence or public disorder, is strictly prohibited.
Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or enmity between groups based on religion, caste, gender, nationality, or other protected characteristics is not permitted.
Any content involving child sexual abuse material, exploitation, grooming, or endangerment of minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to appropriate authorities.
Users must not upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates confidentiality, or breaches contractual obligations.
The platform does not permit misleading or false information intended to deceive users or cause harm.
The use of bots, fake engagement systems, or any artificial means to manipulate platform metrics is prohibited.
Attempts to disrupt platform operations, bypass safeguards, or exploit platform systems will be treated as serious violations
4. Content Suitability, Sensitivity and Impact
Given SoTrue’s interactive and emotionally driven content experience, users are expected to be mindful of the potential impact of their content.
Content that may be distressing, triggering, or harmful must be handled responsibly and may be subject to classification, restriction, or removal.
Filmmakers and production houses are required to ensure that content is appropriately classified based on age suitability, themes, and intensity.
5. Misinformation and Manipulated Media
Users must not share false, misleading, or deceptive information that may cause harm to individuals, communities, or public institutions.
Manipulated media, including deepfakes or edited content intended to mislead users, is not permitted.
6. Intellectual Property Compliance
Users must respect intellectual property rights and may only upload content they own or are authorised to use.
Unauthorised use of copyrighted material may result in content removal, account action, and legal consequences.
7. Content Takedown and Removal Obligations
SoTrue shall act upon receiving actual knowledge in the form of a court order, government notification, or valid user complaint to remove or disable access to unlawful content within timelines prescribed under applicable law.
In cases involving content that exposes private areas of individuals, involves nudity, impersonation, or morphed images, SoTrue shall take reasonable steps to remove such content within twenty four hours of receiving a valid complaint.
8. Safety and Abuse Reporting
Users are encouraged to report content or behaviour that violates these Guidelines using the reporting tools available on the platform.
SoTrue evaluates reports based on severity, credibility, and potential harm. High risk cases, including threats, exploitation, or harm to minors, are prioritised for immediate review.
9. Enforcement and Penalties
SoTrue enforces these Guidelines through a combination of automated systems and human moderation.
Violations may result in actions including content removal, reduced visibility, feature restrictions, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination.
Serious violations, particularly those involving illegal activity or threats to safety, may result in immediate removal and escalation to law enforcement authorities.
10. Grievance Redressal Mechanism
In compliance with the Information Technology Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021, SoTrue has established a grievance redressal mechanism.
Users may submit complaints relating to content, user conduct, account actions, or violations of these Guidelines.

All complaints will be acknowledged within twenty four hours and resolved within fifteen days from receipt, in accordance with applicable law.
11. Compliance with Law Enforcement
SoTrue may provide information, assistance, or cooperation to government agencies and law enforcement authorities as required under applicable law.
Where legally mandated, SoTrue may assist in identifying the originator of information for the purposes of prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of offences.
12. Appeals and Review
Users may request a review of enforcement actions taken against their content or account.
Appeals may be submitted through designated channels, and SoTrue will review such requests within a reasonable timeframe.
13. Updates and Amendments
SoTrue reserves the right to update these Community Guidelines to reflect changes in legal requirements, regulatory obligations, or platform policies.
Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of such updates.
