These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SoTrue governing your access to and use of the platform, including all services, features, content, applications, and functionalities made available through the platform.
By accessing, browsing, registering on, or using SoTrue, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, and any additional policies applicable to specific features such as monetisation, advertising, or subscriptions.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform.

1.3 Eligibility
You represent that you are at least eighteen years of age, or are accessing the platform under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You further confirm that you are competent to enter into a legally binding agreement under the laws of India.
1.4 Nature of Platform
SoTrue operates as a hybrid platform combining an OTT streaming and social interaction platform.The platform enables users to discover and stream films and shows uploaded by filmmakers and production entities. Content is made available in two formats:
- Segmented Format (“Slices”)
Films and shows are broken into sequential units for structured viewing. Slices are structured segments of full length films and shows and together represent the complete content experience. These Slices together constitute the complete work and serve as the primary consumption format on the platform.
- Full Length Format
Full length versions may be available on supported devices such as connected TV platforms, allowing continuous viewing.
Users can engage with content through structured features such as reactions, collections, gamified engagement systems, following other users, and private conversations within collection-based chats.
1.5 Intermediary Status and Legal Compliance
SoTrue functions as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and complies with the Information Technology Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021.
Where applicable, SoTrue also adheres to obligations relevant to online curated content platforms and digital media services.
1.6 User Accounts
SoTrue distinguishes between viewers and filmmakers. You may be required to create an account to access certain features of the platform. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep such information updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
SoTrue reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
1.7 User Roles: Viewers and Filmmakers
SoTrue distinguishes between viewers and filmmakers.Viewers consume content in segmented (“Slices”) or full length formats, depending on device availability, and interact through reactions, collections, following, and private chats.
Filmmakers and production entities upload films and shows, which may be presented in both segmented and full length formats on the platform.
1.8 User Content and Licence
You retain ownership of the content that you upload or publish on SoTrue. Content uploaded by filmmakers may be presented in both segmented and full-length formats.
By making content available on the platform, you grant SoTrue a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, adapt, modify, monetise, and promote such content.
Slices are structured sequential segments that together form the complete work. SoTrue may organise, sequence, and present such segments as the primary viewing experience across supported devices, while enabling full length viewing on compatible platforms such as connected TV environments. This includes the right to integrate interactive elements and optimise content for platform features.
You represent that you have all necessary rights, licences, and permissions required to upload and distribute such content.
1.9 Content Responsibilities and Warranties
You are solely responsible for your content and your use of the platform. You represent that your content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with applicable Indian laws.
You agree not to upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable.
Users must ensure content and behaviour comply with Indian law.
Prohibited content includes unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive material.Without
prejudice to the generality of the above, users shall not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any information that:
belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right
is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another’s privacy, or otherwise harmful
is harmful to minors
infringes intellectual property rights
deceives or misleads users about the origin of content
threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India
promotes enmity between groups
contains viruses or malicious code
1.10 Monetisation Economy
SoTrue may offer monetisation models including advertising, partnerships, and rewards, subject to eligibility and compliance.
Participation in such programmes is subject to eligibility criteria and compliance with platform policies. SoTrue reserves the right to determine eligibility, modify programme structures, withhold payments in cases of violations or fraud, and apply applicable taxes under Indian law.
Filmmakers must ensure that any sponsored content or paid promotions are clearly disclosed and compliant with applicable regulations.
1.11 Advertising and Brand Integrations
SoTrue may display advertisements, including personalised advertising based on user activity, engagement patterns, behaviour and interaction signals.
All advertising must comply with applicable Indian laws and guidelines, including those issued by the Advertising Standards Council of India.
1.12 Content Moderation and Enforcement
SoTrue uses a combination of automated systems and human moderation to monitor content and enforce platform policies.
The platform reserves the right to remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, or terminate access where violations occur.
1.13 Intellectual Property and Takedown Process
If you believe that your intellectual property rights have been infringed, you may submit a complaint with sufficient details to identify the content and establish ownership.
SoTrue shall act upon receiving actual knowledge in the form of a valid complaint, court order, or government notification and shall remove or disable access to such content within timelines prescribed under applicable law, including within thirty-six hours where required.
Upon receiving a valid complaint, SoTrue may remove or disable access to the content. The user who uploaded the content may submit a counter notice if they believe the removal was in error.
SoTrue may restore the content unless the complainant initiates legal proceedings within a reasonable timeframe. Repeat infringers may be permanently terminated.
1.14 Safety and Abuse Escalation
SoTrue is committed to maintaining a safe environment. Reports of harmful content or behaviour are assessed based on severity, credibility, and potential harm.
High-risk cases may be prioritised for immediate review and may be escalated to law enforcement authorities where required.
In cases involving unlawful content or threats to safety, SoTrue may take immediate action and cooperate with law enforcement authorities as required under applicable law.
1.15 Child Safety and Minor Protection
SoTrue enforces strict standards to protect minors. Content involving sexual exploitation or abuse of minors is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal, account termination, and escalation to relevant authorities.
The platform may implement age restrictions, parental controls, and safeguards to ensure age-appropriate access.
1.16 Content Classification and Age Ratings
Content on SoTrue may be classified based on age suitability, themes, language, emotional intensity, and potential impact.
Filmmakers and production houses are required to classify content accurately. SoTrue reserves the right to review and modify classifications.
Content shall be classified in accordance with applicable Indian regulations for online curated content, including age based classifications such as U, U/A 7+, U/A 13+, U/A 16+, and A, along with appropriate content descriptors where required.
SoTrue may implement access controls, parental locks, and display classification information to ensure age-appropriate viewing.
Such systems are implemented in compliance with applicable Indian laws and are designed to avoid harm or unlawful discrimination
1.17 AI-Driven Recommendations and Personalisation
SoTrue uses algorithmic systems to personalise content discovery and advertising. These systems analyse user behaviour, engagement patterns, and interaction signals, including emotional responses.
Such systems are designed to enhance user experience and improve relevance, and are not intended to mislead or harm users.
1.18 Platform Availability and Disclaimer
The platform is provided on an as is and as available basis. SoTrue does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
1.19 Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoTrue shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
You agree to indemnify SoTrue against claims arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.
1.20 Grievance Redressal Mechanism
In compliance with the Information Technology Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021, SoTrue has established a grievance redressal mechanism.
Users may submit complaints relating to content, user conduct, intellectual property, privacy, or platform operations.

All complaints will be acknowledged within twenty four hours and resolved within fifteen days from receipt, in accordance with applicable law.
SoTrue may request additional information where necessary. In cases involving unlawful content or serious harm, appropriate action may be taken including removal of content and escalation to authorities.

1.23 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India. SoTrue may assist government agencies in identifying the originator of information where required under applicable law, subject to due legal process.
